The MinWaste Bibliography: Background
In 1982 the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada, Reno, received a grant from the United States Bureau of Mines for research on the treatment, recovery and recycling of mineral industry wastes. The grant was extended into 1996, through the close of the Bureau of Mines.
The University of Nevada, Reno was the "Mineral Industry Waste Treatment and Recovery Generic Center" with satellite research locations at 15 U.S. universities.
Along with extensive research, the grant also supported a part-time library assistant in the Mines Library dedicated to the bibliographic acquisition needs of the center. Mrs. Bianca Moura’s responsibilities also included the preparation of an in depth bibliography of the publications acquired and others relevant to the research at Reno. A print edition of the bibliography is available in the DeLaMare Library (which now includes the Mines Library): TD 899 .M47 M56 1996
This database is derived from the bibliography and includes monographs, journal articles, proceedings, and theses.
Most of the items are held in the DeLaMare Library and the call number is included in the citation.
