What's the story behind the gold-plated drinking fountains?

Originally, brass-plated drinking fountains were ordered, to match the drinking fountains that were already in place in the restroom foyer just outside of the Keck Museum (in the same renovated building as the DeLaMare Library). However, the supplier sent gold-plated drinking fountains, instead, and allowed us to keep them, at no extra charge. Some say our "gold-plated water" is the best water they've ever tasted!
